Gauge refers to the thickness of the Needle. The larger the Guage, the smaller the Needle. With the Wand, we are able to use the 32g Short for Upper teeth and the 32g Long for Lower Teeth. 32 Guage needles are not Dental Needles. We obtain them from an outside source. YES ...smaller is better.
